Some of you know that my niece was born feet-first. After stepping through the sac. Pushing out the umbilical cord.
That gave exactly 7 minutes to deliver her before brain-damage would begin.
It took much longer than 7 minutes to get to the hospital.
Recently my sister was recounting the story. In the middle of her narrative, I reached over and grabbed my 1-year-old niece's feet.
"These feet are TROUBLE," I said.
She looked me squarely in the eyes.
"I no trouble," she said.
I'm still not sure if she said "I NO trouble," or "I KNOW trouble."
But something tells me there's nothing wrong with her brain.
Today, on Thankful Wednesday, I celebrate my Miracle Niece... and all the joy she brings to my life.

wow, that's amazing she's okay! my daughter was all wrapped up in the cord and we didn't know it until her heart rate kept going down with contractions. the dr. was first rate and got her out by c-section really fast. The Lord is so faithful to take care of us!!
I remember that day and still well up with overwhelming awe and joy.
How precious. And what an adorable picture!
I love that photo! :)
