Thin Places
My friend, Mary DeMuth, recently wrote a book called Thin Places. The trailer for the book is touching.
As I watched the preview I thought about my own thin places -- those moments when I (as Mary describes) suddenly knew God was very close.
Is there a moment in your life when you knew God was close?

Wow. What a beautiful, powerful trailer. Thanks so much for sharing!
I agree, K.M. I think it's going to be an amazing book.
I love Mary's work!
Me too, Christy! I didn't know you read her stuff? What have you read?
Yeah, I received a book by her from a friend after I had my baby. It was called Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary God. I was so encouraged by her writing and honesty with her struggles and things she learned.
I'll share a "thin place"--15 years ago, moments after the doctor confirmed the finality of my miscarriage, I sat alone waiting for the IV to drip through. Heartbroken, I suddenly found myself singing,
"In the shadow of Your wings,
My hearts with gladness rings.
To You alone Lord my soul clings
In the shadow of Your wings."
In that crushing moment when my heart turned Heavenward, I felt Him so close He was almost tangible. It was at once terrifying and sweet beyond description. The memory of Him in that moment completely eclipses the memory of the pain of it.
Christy - Ohhh... I haven't read that one (not yet anyway :D) but I've heard it's great. Watching the Tree Limbs was my first read by Mary. I can tell you Mary is just as legit and "real" in person.
Shaunie - That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story. Wow.
